We didn’t think it was possible either, but Megan’s just got even better. In collaboration with London favourite Malfy Gin, 27th April saw the launch of the Summer Terrace in Clapham Common, offering a season of gorgeous al fresco seating, classic Megan’s Mezze Feasts, and an absolutely unforgettable Mediterranean vibe.
There are few restaurants that are as photogenic as Megan’s Summer Terrace. With a colour-filled canopy of greenery, pink flowers, and bright yellow lemons, it couldn’t feel further away from the Clapham you enter from. Padded out with pillows and comfortable seating next to traditional tiled tables, there’s a real sense of authenticity that transports you away immediately, with the magic only elevated by the twinkling fairy lights and outdoor heaters that emerge as the sun sets.
The menu features all the Megan’s crowdpleasing dishes including the Lamb, Chicken, & Halloumi Mezze, as well as offering phenomenal Sourdough Pide Pizzas that are an absolute must when you visit. There’s everything from butternut, spinach, & caramelised onion, to ‘posh’ lamb doner and green basil margherita to choose from.
The outdoor dining restaurant & takeaway deli serves it usual all day brunch, lunch, dinner, and even caters for takeaway picnics. Piri Piri Chicken Pide in the park? Yes please.
The small plates are a force to be reckoned with. The Halloumi Fries are always a real go-to at Megan’s, served with a honey drizzle that makes them irresistible – trust us. The Buttermilk Fried Chicken works great as a sharer, and the Cheese Fondue is worth ordering equally for its tastiness, and the Insta-worthiness of its cheese pull.
As any Megan’s fan will know, no amount of food will ever curtail the desire to order dessert. The universally loved cookie dough is an obvious choice, but in the spirit of the experience, the summery baklava sundae and holiday-reminiscent lokma doughnuts (served with Nutella!) work perfectly to round off the exceptional meal.
The dishes can be washed down with fabulous Malfy concoctions including the Summer Spritz (Malfy Limone, Prosecco, & Lemonade), and each of the Malfy gins from Arancia Sicilian Blood Orange, Limone, or Rosa Pink Grapefruit, served with a choice of tonic from Elderflower, Indian, or Grapefruit.
With the outstanding food, delicious drinks, and a truly electric atmosphere, you soon forget that you’re closer to the Common’s ponds than the turquoise waters of the Amalfi Coast. The Summer Terrace does a stellar job at immersing you in the authentic spirit of Mediterranean al fresco dining, all from its beautiful little corner in South London. You’ll be eating, drinking, and dancing well into the night and beyond.
