La Gamba, the Southbank’s independent Galician-inspired restaurant, has announced brand new feasting menus for Christmas and New Year’s Eve, kicking off from 20th November. The menus celebrate the best dishes La Gamba has to offer, served with picturesque views of the Thames - the perfect spot to celebrate with friends and family and soak in the festive atmosphere.
Chef Juan Carbacos has curated a special Christmas Feast Menu, which showcases favourite La Gamba dishes and is designed for sharing. Available for pre-booked groups of 6+ and priced at £69 per person, the menu blends fresh, seasonal ingredients with Galician cooking styles. Kick off the feast with a sharing platter of Wild Argentinian Gambas – cooked whole with garlic, chilli and brandy and Palourde Clams and artichokes – cooked in a rich Albariño sauce with artichokes.
The stand-out mains include the classic Paella de Marisco – seafood paella, cooked in a rich seafood stock with prawns, clams, mussels and squid; a Seasonal Whole Fish, depending on what is caught on the day, or Slow-cooked Leg of Lamb with roast potatoes, chorizo and sautéed seasonal vegetables. Round the meal off with two of La Gamba’s homemade desserts, the classic Burnt Casque cheesecake or a Santiago tart, served with vanilla ice cream.
Alternatively, for groups smaller than 6, the Christmas Set-Tapas Menu will be available at £42 per person. The menu is designed for a minimum of two people to share and is available for both bookings and walk-ins between 20th November and 24th December. The menu highlights some of the standout dishes at La Gamba such as the Croqueta Platter featuring Jamon, Crab and Mushroom croquetas, followed by choices of either Grass-fed Rib Eye with chimichurri sauce or Iberico Secreto - Iberico pork loin served with a sweet piquillo sauce with Torijja Carameliza to finish.
La Gamba founder Jack Applebee comments:
‘We have had a fantastic summer on the Southbank having opened earlier this year and we can’t wait to celebrate the festive season with you.
