Bellazul

A Mediterranean restaurant and bar coming soon to Marylebone with head chef Simone Sarafina (ex-Cecconi's Mayfair and 5 Hertford Street) in charge.

 

Burberry takeover of Harrods

Address: 87-135 Brompton Rd, London SW1X 7XL

Opening Date: 1 February 2023

Opening Offer: Buy a hot drink from their van and receive a token to use in-store for unique gifts: an orienteering map created in collaboration with the Open City charity and a Romney’s Kendal Mint Cake with a Burberry twist.

Burberry turns Harrods knight blue and at Door 5 on Hans Crescent, a Burberry food truck will offer British pastries and hot drinks.

 

Urban Greens Kensington

Their fourth location for elevated, reinvented salads.

 

Dream Xi’an

Opening Date: 5 February 2024

Guirong Wei, the chef behind Master Wei (in Bloomsbury) and Xi’an Impression (in Highbury) is now opening a third restaurant and also focuses on serving Shaanxi cooking, with hand-pulled noodles.

 

St John at Fortnum & Mason

Opening Date: 6-22 February 2024

Co-owner Trevor Gulliver is opening a three-week pop-up in Fortnum & Mason, while St John in Smithfield is temporarily closed.

 

RAI

Address: 11-13 Bayley St, Bloomsbury, London WC1B 3HD

Re-opening Date: 7 February 2024

RAI Fitzrovia shut down in 2023 and is now reopening in a new location. It is an omakase-only restaurant, owned by the team behind Hot Stone in Islington and will have Executive Chef Padam Raj Rai (previously at Nobu, Sake no Hana and Tsukiji) leading the kitchen.

 

Alfi

The wine pub opened in December and restaurant opens this month, by Ben Hodges and Alex Lewis on the former Leon space in Spitalfields market.

 

Camille

A French neighbourhood bistro in Borough Market by Clare Lattin and Tom Hill, founders of Ducksoup and Little Duck, who have teamed up with Ratnesh Bagdai (co-founder of Brindisa Kitchens) and head chef Elliot Hashtroudi (ex-St John chef).

 

Detroit Pizza Islington

Opening Date: 8 February 2024

Deep-dish Detroit pizza, said to be 'The world’s best American-Italian restaurant', second venture from the team after the success in Spitalfields.

 

Freddie's

New York-style deli and restaurant in Belsize Park by Jack Graham (ex Raw Press in Chelsea)  and Amelia Graham (ex marketing at Planet Organic)

 

Chapel Market Kitchen

Opening Date: 11 February 2024

A new seafood restaurant/oyster bar and grill by chef Maoz Alonim, with fresh oysters, raw bar, changing menu inspired by Chapel market and an 'unruly' wine list.

 

Lower Wine Bar

Opening Date: 13 February 2024

A neighbourhood wine bar in Waterloo with a working cellar shop for wines to drink in or take away. They will have a small, weekly changing blackboard menu and private dining.

 

Singapulah

Opening Date: 15 February 2024

By Singaporean restaurateur Ellen Chew who also owns Arôme cafes, Rasa Sayang, Mrs Chew's Chinese Kitchen and Shan Shui. Singapulah will be a restaurant and shop (where you can buy the Singaporean ingredients used in your dishes), spread across four floors.

 

Bar Bruno

Wine bar & shop by wine importer Michael Sager, named after his father. Food menu will be focusing on pretzels.

 

Choppaluna

Layers Bakery

Chelsea (founder of District Coffee and Where’s Fred’s cafe/wine bar), Giulia (ex head baker at Hedone) and Faye (ex head pastry chef Hedone, pastry chef at The Ritz and head of pastry at London Stock) created Layers to give London beautifully baked goods and incredible coffee to go with it, because what's a morning cappuccino without a croissant?

Entomologist Aaron Thomas and designer Leo Taylor, are opening a permanent edible insects restaurant in Finsbury Park, after the success of their pop-up in Shoreditch last year, with chefs Sam Clark (from Moro), Jay Patel (from Legare) and James Nathan (MasterChef winner ).
