Albert Schloss Bavarian beer hall is coming to London taking over the former Rainforest Cafe/ Jungle Cave space so expect lots of schnitzels, bratwursts and sharing fondues, from the group behind Rudy’s Pizza Napoletana. A new food, drinks and events space from Dominic Cools-Lartigue (The Tramshed Project and Street Feast), featuring a mix of events, art, music and more. Curated by food writer Anna Sulan Masing, this is a one day food and literature festival with famous chefs such as Joké Bakare (of Chishuru), critic Jimi Famurewa and authors Melissa Hemsley and Melissa Thompson taking part in a series of discussions, cookery workshops, performance and partying. Beanfeast started in 1773 when King George III pulled his barge into Woolwich and had a big party with beans and bacon.

Des Gunewarden (former D&D CEO) is opening his own restaurant at the Royal Exchange, on the North South and East mezzanines, with two new "concepts": Engel and Jang.
Engel will be a "cocktail bar and performance space inspired by 1920s Berlin" serving an all-day Austrian and German café menu. Jang will offer a modern Korean-Japanese cuisine, with Dana Choi (ex Judy Joo's Jinjuu and Seoul Bird) leading the kitchen.

Marylebone’s award-winning annual summer festival is returning this summer with the very best of Marylebone’s dining scene. There will be sporting events on the big screen, a Guest Kitchen with popular local restaurants on rotation, quality food and drink stalls, family fun and health and wellness activities. It ties in with the Wimbledon Tennis Championship which you can watch on their big screen from a deck chair (with a drink in hand!) in the tranquil setting of Portman Square Garden. They are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year and entry is free. It will return with 'Games In The Garden' on 7-11 August for the Paris Olympics.

Wagyu Cuisine/yakiniku chain by founder Soji Hiraide, very popular in Taiwan and China, which also won the "World Steak Challenge" this year. Yakiniku is the concept of grilling yourself on a portable charcoal cooker but chef Nicolo Bolognesi (ex Nobu Portman Square) will also serve special dishes. Until now, the egg-centric Eggbreak has only been in Notting Hill - but now it's getting ready to pop up in Shoreditch.
It'll be in the Hoxton Shoreditch for the whole of the summer. The hotel and restaurant are owned by the same group, so it's an obvious crossover. This version of Eggbreak will also be taking reservations, unlike the original.
