Hi Barbie! Hi Stanley!
The iconic Barbie brand, represented by the beloved blond bombshell doll, is celebrating her 65th birthday, and to mark the occasion is teaming up with Stanley for a hot new collection of eight Barbie-branded Stanley tumblers, which will drop on the 16th of September.
Barbie X Stanley Cup are also holding a series of “Legend Pop-Ups” in cities across the UK and US. These are immersive pop-up events will include activities, phot ops, gifting, and of course, the chance to purchase the iconic cups.
Londoners can boogie down at Legends Skateway presented by Barbie & Stanley to enjoy soundtracks by DJ Chelsea Little, open skating, roller performances and freebies.
The new line is inspired by last year’s wildly popular Barbie film starring Margot Robbie and and Ryan Gosling. Here’s what the lineup looks like:
Barbie Icon Quencher
This pink main character has her dedicated cup, featuring a bright pink design with a gold iridescence and the Barbie logo in dark pink letters.
1959 Original
This cup represents the 1959 first-ever Barbie doll, with the signature black and white colors of Barbie's swimsuit and “pool blue and hot pink accents complement the iconic cat-eye sunglasses.”
60s Twist ’N Turn
This cup is inspired by the Twist ’N Turn Barbie from the swingin’ 60s with “a soft, sorbet gradient and tangerine lid and straw combo".
70s Superstar
Superstar Barbie cup celebrates the disco era and has a “hot pink and purple gradient with a pattern of gold, dainty stars that echo the sparkle and star-shaped stand of the doll."
80s Peaches ’N Cream
The 80s cup celebrates the Barbie Doll of the dame name, and is peach, decorated with pink and white blossoms that match the pattern of the doll’s tulle dress.
80s Western Ken
This one is dedicated to Western Ken in the 80s, with “a midnight–black colour and a print that mimics the contrast stitching and silver buckle showcased on the doll”.
80s Rockers
Barbie and the Rockers dolls cup has “bright, retro graphics that are ready to rock”, reminiscent of the bright colours of the 80s.
80s Dynamite
This cup celebrates the first Black Barbie Doll that was released in 1980. It has rich colours, gold accents and disco lights, inspired by the doll's vibrant red bodysuit and wrap skirt.
The other locations for the pop-up are New York City 16-18 August, Houston 7 September and Los Angelos 14 - 15 September.
Stanley cups are famous for staying cold for up to 2 days and are made of stainless steel.
