Shaftesbury Capital has welcomed the world’s first luxury pastry atelier, Donutelier, as it opens a new store on Carnaby Street on 26th November 2024. This marks Donutelier’s second location in London after Leicester Square and is the first boutique bakery to ever be located on the iconic shopping street.
The Soho site will offer an exclusive Carnaby Street special donut, the Carnaby Toffee Pudding, which pays homage to the iconic British location and sticky toffee pudding dessert that’s loved by the nation. It features date toffee and vanilla Chantilly cream filling, macaron crumbs, sugar dusting and a caramel pipette; a tribute to both the brand's patisserie excellence and the vibrant energy of Carnaby Street.
To celebrate the launch, Donutelier will be giving away 100 free donuts from 11am on 26th November and a ‘Spin the Wheel’ game will give customers the chance to win prizes during the launch day from midday.
Strategically timed to capitalise on the festive season, Donutelier’s new Christmas Collection* will be available, which includes White Forest, Santa Babà, and the return of the fan favourite, St. Honoré that has a toffee caramel and blonde chocolate ganache filling, topped with Chantilly cream and a caramelised vanilla cream-filled profiterole.
Known for its visually stunning, hand crafted and high-quality creations, Donutelier’s latest Donut Collection and popular classics will be served alongside a range of croissants, speciality pastries and house blend coffee.
Spanning 1330 square feet, Donutelier’s new location is a significant step forward in the brand’s expansion, offering a larger dedicated seating area. This layout was chosen for Carnaby Street to serve the demand in the area for fine quality pastries and coffees for the surrounding offices, locals and tourists during the morning trade. Designed in collaboration with global interior designer, Alona Eliasi, the Soho store features a playful baking-inspired interior throughout, from the bespoke marble mosaic floor made up of three swirling patterns to resemble dough being mixed, to their iconic chandeliers, inspired by pâtissiers’ piping bags.
The interior is designed to reflect the artistry and craftmanship behind donut-making, blending classic and contemporary touches to reflect Donutelier’s traditional baking techniques with innovative design trends.
Large windows provide visibility into the ‘decoration theatre' showcasing Donutelier’s expert team crafting beautiful donut and pastry creations to passersby and customers inside for a memorable Carnaby Street experience.
Théa Marks, Chief Operating Officer at Donutelier, added: “We hope our new boutique located right in the centre of the iconic Carnaby Street will hit the sweet spot for shoppers, Londoners and international visitors. Our Soho store offers a larger seating area to provide the perfect break for a beautiful donut, pastry or coffee.”
