Codex Labs introduces Shaant, its latest revolutionary skincare innovation to target one of the most increasingly prevalent skincare concerns in today's world - adult acne.
Driven by ShaantComplex, which is scientifically proven to reduce sebum production, redness and shrink pores, the collection is comprised of four breakthrough products that harness the power of bio-actives from plants in India long valued by Ayurvedic healers for their calming, soothing and balancing properties. With a fitting name, 'Shaant' means 'peace' and 'calm' in Hindi, paired with 'connectedness' in Ayurvedic philosophy.
The development of Shaant has been long-awaited by many, #adultacne being searched for 90.5 million times on TikTok. A survey carried out by The Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology highlighted that 50.9% of the population will suffer with adult acne at some point in their lifetime. Dr Barb Paldus, the founder and CEO of Codex Labs attributes this largely to increasing levels of stress in our society, crazy schedules, poor quality of sleep, and rising pollution - compounded by unhealthy earing and alcohol habits that contribute to health issues that manifest on our skin.
Shaant was formulated in partnership with Raja Sivamani, an integrative dermatologist and certified Ayurvedic practitioner. The line was developed to target oily and acne-prone skin by helping to reduce sebum production, exfoliate, encourage skin turnover and soothe irritation.
Designed to be used in sequence, the Shaant Foaming Cleanser purifies pores, soothes, and balances the skin, before the PHA-rich Shaant Refining Toner works to hydrate, reduce redness, and shrink the pores. The Shaant Oil Control Cream then mattifies and smooths, followed by the Shaant Balancing Clay Mask which acts to deeply exfoliate, smooth, and even skin tone.
The products are non-comedogenic and non-acnegenic, and work perfectly for those with oily, inflamed, acne-prone skin. They are also certified by MyMicrobiome, Vegan Action, Leaping Bunny and the Environmental Working Group, with the cleanser and toner earning COSMOS Natural certification from Ecocert.
